Seva

Amma says, "Lending a helping hand to a neglected soul, feeding the hungry, a compassionate smile towards the sad and dejected, this, is the real service, a manifestation of true Love. We should invoke God's compassion in our own hearts and hands."

In her own life, day after day, Amma offers such a flawless example of how to live selflessly, working with all our heart to serve others. She says any single individual can positively influence life with ideals based on love, renunciation and an attitude of service. We hope you can get involved and join us in this invigorating endeavor.

By the blessing of Amma's great compassion, all Her children are able to participate in seva, or selfless service, for God. Amma has said that Life and God are not separate. Truly service is in the heart of the devotee. As we serve life, so we serve Amma, so we serve God. We are blessed to not only have Amma in our lives but to be able to serve Her in whatever ways we are able, from remembering to smile to moving mountains.

We, in the Nairobi satsang, would like to encourage all to explore which paths of service feel appropriate for you. If you begin one seva and it doesn't seem to fit, have no worries, there are many other seva opportunities to explore! No contribution of service is too small because this is an exchange of love between you and your beloved. So welcome to the wonderful world of unlimited opportunity for the expression of love between you and your beloved and between us all."
